A firm founded by it’s well known namesake: RAM GOPAL VARMA.

A God to many educated urban youth who had the guts to leave solid professional careers to venture into the unknown filmdom.

RGV FACTORY was an uber-talented teeming bustling place, where many of today’s reigning bollywood fraternity have learnt the ropes or honed their skills there.

Directors like Madhur Bhandarkar, Shimit Amin, Sriram Raghavan, Sajid Khan, E. Niwas and umpteen others.

Actors like Manoj Bajpai, Vivek Oberoi, Rajpal Yadav, Sayaji Shinde, Fardeen Khan, Aftab Shivdasani ,Antara Mali, Nisha Kothari and not the least, Urmila Matondkar. The last 5 being absolutely pathetic and wooden faced.

Even Item girls in RGV’s movies went on to become heroines like Isha Koppikar and Koena Mitra.

Writers like Jaideep Sahni and Saurabh Shukla.

Editor- Directors like Chandan Arora and sound technicians like Dwarak Warrier

Music directors like Salim-Sulaiman and Sandeep Chowtha.

Camera men like Rasool Ellore and Sudeep Chatterjee.

Even in the Telugu film industry where he made his mark with SHIVA – a path breaking movie of any era or genre - , there were a number of directors, writers, actors and the assorted lot, who got breaks thru him but they have become successful doing so only by becoming tangentially independent of his film thinking.

A trend which is also being followed religiously in Bollywood too.

But the question is why have 90% of them run off to work with other production houses or now consciously avoiding their MENTOR. Some of them don’t even talk to him.

The only people remaining in the RGV stable are those who cater to his VANITY and EGO MANIA and sadly churn out clones of his earlier pictures.

A man who gave us varied fare as SHIVA, RANGEELA, RAAT, BHOOTH, SATYA, KSHANAMSHKANAM(telugu) and COMPANY now retorts to remaking SHIVA twice, has the audacity and dare to remake SHOLAY called “RGV Ka Sholay” and spouts pseudo intellectual self praises.

A guy who once strongly believed that the hero in a movie is the STORY/SCRIPT is now sadly banking on the extended BACHCHAN family to help him make/sell movies.

It’s akin to a Die-hard communist becoming a Capitalist.

There are still so many people out there in the world who still believe in RGV’s talent and optimistically go to watch his movies, but unless he doesn’t consciously and quickly reset himself back to his SHIVA period and change his Mentality and Ways, unfortunately there will only be a Quick and Quiet demise of RGV and his Factory.
